We are thrilled to have three talented Queen’s Nurses as part of our Nellsar team; our Learning and Development Manager Marisa Spice, Manager at Princess Christian Care Home Nisha Leo, and Deputy Manager at Meyer House Care Home Nicoleta Cristescu.

The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) supports leadership, innovation and best practice in order to improve care for individuals, their families and the communities they serve. They believe that one way to do this is to bring together community Nurses who share common values with a shared title and is developing a growing network of ‘Queen’s Nurses’ across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Channel Islands. They believe this will not only benefit individuals, families and carers and the quality of care they receive, but also promote the development and recognition of community nursing practice.

The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) Awards recognise those committed to high standards of practice and patient-centred care, supporting innovation and best practice to improve care for patients.

Marisa received her award in 2022, being recognised for her high level of commitment, passion and enthusiasm for nursing care excellence and her outstanding contribution to both residents and the profession. She commented:
“I’m so proud and honoured to receive this incredible accolade. Having worked in social care for over 15 years, my career has provided me with so many rewarding experiences, and this is something I continue to value now! I have always enjoyed learning more about how to help others and this is for all people: residents, staff, families, health and social care professionals, and also other suppliers and providers I work or network with.”

Nisha and Nicoleta were recognised in 2023 for their commitment to quality care, advocacy for individuals, families and carers, and leadership, learning and development and were both delighted to receive the prestigious accolade:

Nisha said:
“I am truly honoured to receive the Queen’s Nurse recognition. Nursing has always been my calling; a journey of compassion, care, and dedication. This achievement fills me with immense delight and passion, knowing that every step in my nursing background has led me to this moment. It’s not just an accolade; it’s a symbol of the profound impact Nurses can make in the lives of people they care for.”

Nicoleta commented:
“Being recognised by the Queen’s Nurse Institute is an honour and an acknowledgment of my commitment to improving the standards of care. I could not have achieved this without Nellsar’s support, providing an excellent training and development programme. I feel extremely grateful to be a part of a big family at Nellsar – working with and supporting my colleagues. I hope I can be an inspiration to others, while continuing to make a difference to those I provide care for and those in the local community.”

We are so proud of our Queen’s Nurses – they are a true credit to the Nellsar team and Nurses everywhere.
