When did you join Nellsar?
March 2022

What made you join Nellsar?
After five years of very long commutes, I was looking for a role closer to the area where I live and I found the Nellsar advert. I immediately fell in love with the Nellsar philosophy of care and felt that it was the perfect team to join. I was honoured and humbled to become part of the Nellsar family, and I am proud to be able to make meaningful contributions to help achieve our goals.

What role(s) have you had within Nellsar?
I joined as Quality and Compliance Manager at the beginning of 2022, and my role has progressed to the current Quality Improvement and Innovation Manager. I am delighted to be part of an extraordinarily collaborative environment and have the chance to work alongside talented individuals who share a passion for innovation.

What does your current role involve?
I am engaged in diverse development work, leading or contributing to a number of very different and innovative projects. One of my primary aims is to showcase the exceptional quality of care provided by Nellsar and to highlight the remarkable work that our colleagues consistently deliver. Additionally, I support the implementation of various modules within the Care Management System, Care Vision.

What skills do you need to do your role?
I believe all of us working in the care industry are highly dedicated people. Through my work, I aim to support my colleagues to reach their goal of assisting the people living in our Homes to have the best possible experiences. It is important to be a good organiser, to coordinate information and data in such a manner that it becomes easy to use for everyone and that it conveys the correct message, reflecting the passion and commitment we bring to our work. Objective creativity is another relevant skill for my role, ensuring that creative ideas or solutions generated align with our desired outcomes and objectives, as well as with regulatory compliance requirements.

What elements of your role do you most enjoy?
The most fulfilling aspects of my job are the opportunities for meaningful collaborations and the ability to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I’m fortunate to be working alongside highly dedicated team members, supporting residents and their loved ones to obtain the best possible outcomes, and engaging in exciting development projects. One of my most significant achievements at Nellsar was the privilege of leading the redesign of our Company Values and actively assisting our Home teams in implementing them.

How would you describe working with your colleagues?
Every day is an immense joy and I am delighted to collaborate with a wide range of colleagues with different roles. We share a common dedication to our work and a clear commitment to providing exceptional care. Communication is open and respectful and there is a strong sense of team contribution as we work towards our shared goals. Everyone’s unique skills and perspectives contribute to our success, making our work environment positive and fulfilling.

What are you most looking forward to in the future at Nellsar?
Currently, there are several exciting projects underway that greatly motivate and inspire me. Looking ahead, my ultimate dream and future aspiration revolve around supporting as many Care Home teams as possible in achieving their well-deserved ‘Outstanding’ rating during inspections. This goal drives my enthusiasm and dedication each day.
