Carlos joined Nellsar in 2003 and enjoys his role heading up Maintenance for Woodstock and also assisting other Nellsar Homes in the group.

What do you enjoy about your role?
I enjoy so much about my role and love being in our Home with all our residents and team members. I like to make my colleagues feel safe and supported and enjoy taking on big tasks and projects which help to keep improving our Home. I take pride in being able to decorate Woodstock and give the bedrooms an individual touch.

What makes Nellsar a good company to work for?
I feel safe working for Nellsar; I have learnt so much over the years and I’m happy to impart the knowledge and confidence I have built to newer staff who join the team. I enjoy coming to work every day and a big part of that is due to the team I work with – the interactions I have with colleagues and residents. I’ve had great support over the years from management and team members.

What training have you had during your time at Nellsar?
I have completed many training courses over my 20 years of working with Nellsar, including mandatory training which I enjoy as it updates my knowledge about Care. I have also completed specific training for my role, for example Legionella and asbestos training, PAT testing and basic electrical training. The training I enjoy most of all is the hands-on skills that I use every day in my tasks.

Have you got a favourite or funny moment at Nellsar that you can share?
I’ve had a lot of good times with teams from the past and present. There are many funny moments that I have had over the years. I’ve enjoyed some great Christmas parties and the laughter that came with them. A great memory I have was when I assisted with the extension that was added to Lulworth House and all that I learnt from being involved with that.
